Elizabeth “Betty” Robenhymer,86, of Fenwood Avenue, Esmond passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of the late Roland Robenhymer.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Keegan) Gilfillan. Betty was a home health care provider for the elderly for many years and also was a volunteer for Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island. She was very civic minded and you would always find her volunteering her time at the polls on election day. Betty was an active and faithful communicant of St. Michael’s Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister and CCD Instructor.
She leaves six children, Joseph Robenhymer of Narragansett, Sharon M. Robenhymer of Florida, Elizabeth Jean Power Greene of North Carolina, Nancy Harrison of Smithfield, Kevin Robenhymer of Smithfield and Timothy J. Robenhymer of North Kingstown. She was the mother of the late Kathy Corso Latos. She also leaves one sister, Mary Kretzer of Smithfield, twenty grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ann Ross, Frederick Gilfillan, Thomas Gilfillan, John Gilfillan and Joseph Gilfillan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Esmond. Burial will be private.
