Eduina A. Escobar, 91, of Nevada Avenue, Rumford, passed away Tuesday February 28, 2017 at the Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Antonio S. Escobar to whom she was married for 68 years. Born in Cedros, Faial, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Furtado Peres and Maria Amelia (Correia) Peres. Mrs. Escobar was a Machine Operator for Blackstone Webbing Company before retiring. She was the loving mother of four daughters, Maria Conceicao Fernandes and her husband Alberto of East Providence, Maria Eduina Goncalves and her husband Carlos of East Providence, Maria Albertina Fernandes and her husband Jose of Faial, Azores and Maria Natalia Gomes and her husband Luis of East Providence, two sons, Domingos Escobar and his wife Judite of Cumberland and Jose Antonio Escobar and his wife Adelaide of Pawtucket, one sister, Maria Lopes, one brother, Eduino Peres, seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late, Jose P. Escobar and sister of the late, Adelina Escobar. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in Saint Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street, East Providence. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Calling hours will be held on Friday 5-8.
