Edila G. DaCosta, 78 of Trenton Street died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of the late Rufino B. DaCosta. Born in Pedro Miguel, Faial, Azores she was a daughter of the late Joao Gomes and Rosa Vargas. Mrs. DaCosta worked for the Davol Rubber Company for many years before retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society, Faial.She leaves one daughter, Edila M.C. Wilcox and her husband Joseph M. Wilcox, III of Riverside, one son, Rufino G. Costa of Pawtucket, one sister, Rosa “Eduina” Pereira of Pawtucket and one brother, Jose T. Gomes of California. She was the sister of the late Maria T. Duarte, Joao T. Gomes and Seraphim T. Gomes. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony’s Church,32 Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket.
