Dorothy M. (Lyons) Paiva, 90 formerly of Riverside passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the home of her granddaughter Brenda in North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Edward S. Paiva and the late Harry Watson.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Genevieve (Brennan) Lyons. Mrs. Paiva was the owner and operator with her husband of the former Quick Stop Milk Store in Riverside. She was a member of the Barrington Senior Center, was an avid reader and enjoyed dancing.
She leaves one daughter, Carol Corsi; seven grandchildren, Brenda, April, Richard, Kimberly, Deborah, Lee Jr., Michael and eleven great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Elizabeth Lawless and Lee Watson, Sr., grandmother of the late Donna Tierney and great grandmother of the late Ryan Fitzgerald.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Brendan’s Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 6-8. Contributions to Home & Hospice Care of RI would be appreciated.
