David H. Brown, Jr., 81, died July 20, 2019 at his home with his wife and two children by his side. He was the husband of Barbara S. (Batty) Brown. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late David and Ruth (Emanuelson) Brown, Sr. He was the co-owner of T.D. Brown School Photography. He was an avid Horseman. In 2018 he was third in the Nation in Quarter Horse Halter with his two year old mare. He was a Honorary Past President of New England Horseman’s Council; A Life Member and Honorary Senior Director of the Rhode Island Horsemen’s Association; Past President of the Rhode Island Quarter Horse Association and a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Mr. Brown was also a member of the East Providence Elks and a member of the Newman Congregational Church, UCC. Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Wendy E. Hathoot and her husband Doug, one son, Steven D. Brown, three grandchildren, Shelby E. Brown, Paige M. Brown and Matthew S. Ballou, one great grandson, Tucker S. Ballou and one sister, Jacqueline Spaight. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Newman Congregational Church, Rumford. Burial will be held in Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Blvd, Providence. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence.
