Cheryl Ann Gomes

Cheryl Ann Gomes, 58, of Cranston, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 23, 2021.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Antone and Cynthia (Faria) Soares.

Cheryl was an executive assistant in the professional development office for the Providence School Dept. and she was also a member of the NCBW-RI Chapter Mentoring Program.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, working with flowers, reading and cooking.

She leaves a daughter, Marlene Gomes of East Providence, one brother Courtney Soares of Providence and a sister Marcella Christie of Pawtucket.  She was the sister of the late Andrea Hirst and Jean Soares.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions and guidance from the Dept. of Health, her funeral service will be private for family.

I was so sad to hear that my friend passed on to be with the Lord. What is so weird is I just talked to you 2 weeks prior & we were making plans to meet up. :0( My condolences to your daughter and family.
