Carl S. Mello, Sr., 66, passed away on Wednesday March 23, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. Born in Providence, he was a son of Mary (Vasconcelos) Mello and the late Armand Mello. Carl was the owner and operator of C&H Painting and also the head painter for Citizens Bank before he retired. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Teamsters Local 251. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, traveling and taking cruises. Besides his mother, he leaves Nancy Mello, the mother of their children and the love of his life, one son, Carl S. Mello Jr. and his wife Jessica of Warwick, one daughter, Heather A. Facteau and her husband Wayne of Riverside, four grandchildren, Allison and Briana Mello , Aubrey and Brody Facteau, one sister, Natalie Mello of Providence, one brother, Robert Mello of Pawtucket. He also leaves his devoted friend John Martins. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse Street, Providence. Burial with Military Honors to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5-8. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI.
