Arthur Antonio Araujo 75, of Providence passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio and Anna (Soares) Araujo. Mr. Araujo was a Tow Truck Operator for Collettas Towing before retiring and was also previously a driver for Rhode Island Public Transit Authority. He spent many hours volunteering at Amos House and was well known in the Amos House community. He leaves three daughters, Pamela Varella of Providence, Rhonda Araujo-Smith of Providence, and Julianna Araujo of Woonsocket, four brothers, Louie Araujo, John Araujo, Eddie Araujo, and David Araujo, nine sisters, Juanita Hammond, Delores Taylor, Mary Best, Frances Nicholas, Julia Fortes, Deanna Love, Angel Thorton, Isabel Evans, and Patricia Joseph, two granddaughters, Ariana Varella and Kristin Smith, two grandsons, Derin Araujo and Kevin Varella, II, one great granddaughter, Layani and three great grandsons, Kevin, III, Malcolm, Jr. and Romeo. He was the brother of the late Antonio M. Araujo, Jr. His funeral and visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence from 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM with a service to follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will be private.
