I just finished reading Tony's obituary in today's paper and it described Tony to a T, I will never forget my 50th birthday party when Tony decided to have a little fun telling everyone that I wasn't the quiet shy girl that everyone thought I was. We were all at Pierce Field for Heritage Day and my car got towed because I had parked it in an illegal spot. Well when the concert was over I couldn't find my car so we proceeded to the Police Department to get a release so that I could pick up my car at Woods Gas Station. Well the door was locked and the "gentleman" inside just kept telling me to come back tomorrow. I decided to walk back there where the towed cars were kept and low and behold I spotted my car. I had an extra key so I decided to get my car that night and come back in the morning to straighten things out. I got in the car and drove it out on the far right with no headlights on so that "Bo Bo" (Tony's name for him, based on his outrageous behavior) wouldn't even realize that the car was gone. Tony and Ruthie followed me to the entrance to the highway to make sure that I was okay. I simply told them that it was my car and after all, how could I steal my own car. Tony got the biggest kick out of my getaway and made sure that everyone at my party knew that I wasn't the nice girl that they thought I was. I was now a car thief. His rendition of my escapade was the highlight of the evening. That's who Tony was, a man able to see the humor in every situation. I will truly miss him and his dynamic personality. My heart goes out to you Ruthie because you've lost your best friend. In the days and weeks ahead try to remember all of the good times you shared and you'll find yourself smiling through your tears. I'm here for you whenever you need a shoulder to lean on.
