Anthony R. “Tinnie” Lema, 92, of Martin Street passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of the late Celia (Roderick) Lema. Born in East Providence, he was the son of the late Manuel and Clara (Cabral) Lema and he was a lifelong resident of Martin Street. Tinnie was a driver for the Bonanza Bus Lines for many years before he retired. He was a member of the East Providence Elks, Lodge # 2337 and was a Past Exulted Ruler. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He leaves one daughter, Doreen Monroe and her husband Terrance, eight grandchildren, Venus Lema, Corey Lema, Lorene Perry, Terrance Monroe, Jr., Derrick Lema, Eric Monroe, Ashley Lema and Tracy Monroe, four great grandsons and two great granddaughters. He was the father of the late Richard A. Lema and Susan J. Lema. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 4-8.
