Anna M. Salvo

Anna M. (Chianese) Salvo, of Barrington passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 after a long illness. For 57 years she was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Salvo, Sr.   Born in Barrington, she was a daughter of the late John and Victoria (Carnevale) Chianese.  Before retiring Anna worked for Trifari-Hallmark in East Providence. She also worked for Brier Mfg. and Bradley Hospital for many years.  For her entire life Anna was an active member of Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church in Barrington. She was a member of their Woman’s Guild and the St. Anthony Society. She also volunteered countless hours at the church counting budgets, cleaning and helping out in anyway she could. Anna was devoted to her family and friends.  She was nurturing and caring and did it all with a great sense of humor. We’ll miss her love and her smile. She was the mother of Michael J. Salvo, Jr. ( Joyce) of Westport and Carol A. Zimmerman (Gary) of Seekonk. Grandmother to Kate, Ann, Sam, Andrea and the late Amy Duggan and great grandmother of seven.  She was a loving sister to five wonderful brothers, Joseph and his wife Anna of Barrington, John and his late wife Anita of Providence and the late Anthony and his wife Mary, the late Angelo and his wife Jean and her late brother Frank who died in World War II. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other loving family members.  Michael and Carol would like to thank the compassionate staff at St. Elizabeth Manor in Bristol for the loving care they provided Mom over the last ten years. You are all beautiful, thank you. We would also like to thank the staff at Beacon Hospice for their love and support during these very trying weeks before Mom’s passing.  Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 5-7.
