Ann F. Barrett, 99, of Riverside, RI and formerly of Nanuet, New York passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 at her home. She was the wife of the late Walter G Barrett. Born in New York, New York, she was the daughter of the late John and Theresa (Fischl) Lang who emigrated from Austria. Mrs. Barrett started her bookkeeping career in the Wall Street area in downtown New York City and worked for Falk Transportation in Spring Valley, NY before retiring.
She was very active in the Nanuet II Senior Club in Nanuet, New York and held many administrative positions while a member. She had a lifelong love of anything cat and thought they were the Purrfect companions. Her life was rich with family, friends and travel and she kept her sense of humor, even in her final weeks.
She leaves one daughter, Kathleen Thomas and her husband Jonathan of Riverside, one son, Richard Barrett and his wife Diane of Arizona and her daughter in law Maureen Moss, four grandchildren, Kelly Feeney, Emily, Michael and David Barrett, and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Ryan Barrett. She was the mother of the late James Barrett.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 20,2019 at 10:00 AM in Saint Brendan’s Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 PM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will take place in New York.
