Amy C. Duggan, 37 of Evelyn Way passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of Michael A. Duggan. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Gary G. and Carol A. (Salvo) Zimmerman. Amy was a Licensed Occupational Therapist for the East Providence School Department and was currently working at the Silver Spring School. She also had worked for the Woonsocket and Cranston School Departments. She was a 1995 graduate of Seekonk High School and a 1999 graduate of Quinnipiac College, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Amy was very instrumental in achieving full day kindergarten for the Seekonk School Department. She also had a close bond and association with the Gloria Gemma Foundation. It is difficult to sum up Amy’s life in so few words, but this is a quote which represents how she lived: “Be strong, you never know who you are inspiring.” Besides her husband and parents she leaves two daughters, Maria Duggan and Paige Duggan, two sisters, Kate Diiorio and Ann Lastrina and her husband Adam, her maternal grandmother, Anna Salvo, two nephews, R.J. Diiorio and Joshua Diiorio, two nieces, Maggie Lastrina and Brynn Lastrina, her mother and father in law, Michael R. and Deborah L. Duggan, one brother in law, Matthew Duggan, her very close and dear friend, Meagan David, and also many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret’s Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Burial will be in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Barrington. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 3-8 in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence.
