Althea Faye DiStiso, 87, of Manton Avenue passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of the late Jeremiah DiStiso. Born in Charleston, South Carolina she was a daughter of the late Adolfus and Eva Davis. Mrs. DiStiso worked in the security department at Roger Williams Park Zoo before retiring. Her most important and rewarding job was raising her family and being a mother. She enjoyed crocheting and always made outfits and blankets for all her family members. She was an extremely avid Bingo player and always enjoyed cooking for her family. She leaves eight children, Maxine Halidy and her husband Melvin of Florida, Robert Gardner, Linwood T. Long of New York, Arthur L. Long and his wife Sandra of New York, Kevin W. Long and his wife Sharron of California, Marvellus D. Jones and her husband Tommy of Johnston, Anthony F. Riveria and his wife Wendy of Providence and Karen M. Long of New York and a abundance of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by eight children and three brothers and one sister. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
