Alda S. Xavier, 94, of Farnum Street, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 surrounded by her beloved children at the Hope Hospice Palliative Care Center. She was the wife of the late Flaminio F. Xavier.
Born in Lajes, Pico, Azores she was a daughter of the late Francisco Moniz deMelo and Maria Angelica (Soares) deMelo. Mrs. Xavier was an assembler for the Martin-Copeland Company before she retired. She was a communicant of St. Martha’s Church. Above all else, her family meant everything to her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and always enjoyed spending time with them. She will be greatly missed.
She leaves five children, Anabela Xavier of Pico, Roger M. Xavier of East Providence, Ana P. Xavier of Rumford, Luis C. Xavier of Warwick and Patricia X. Bain of Rehoboth, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 9:00 from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 4-7.
