Albertina DeJesus Vargas

Albertina DeJesus Vargas, 100, of Pawtucket, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 we family by her side. She was the wife of the late Antonio daTerra Vargas.

She was born in Ribeirinha, Faial, Acores a daughter of the late Manuel Rodrigues Amaral and Rosa Augusta.  Mrs. Vargas came to the United States in 1970. She worked at the Imperial Knife Company, Memorial Hospital and retired from  American Insulated Wire. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Cumberland and a member of Holy Ghost of St. Anthony Church and Sister of Nossa Senhora Do Carmo.

She leaves 14 children, Maria L. Teixeira, Manuel T. Vargas, Maria R. Vitorino, Bernardino A. Vargas, Adelaide Escobar, Maria F. Anjos, and Jose E. Vargas all of Pawtucket, Maria R. Vizinho of Florida, Jacinto T. Vargas of North Carolina, Maria F. Brasil of South Attleboro, Joao N. Vargas and Antonio Gabriel Vargas both of California, Bertina Escobar of Cumberland and Aida M. Vargas of Attleboro, 44 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Antonio daTerra Vargas, Antonio Jorge Vargas, Jose daTerra Vargas, Jose Felisberto Vargas, Norberto A. Vargas and was also the mother of two children who were stillborn. She was the sister of the late Maria Jose, Jose, Antonio, Senhorinha, Manuel and Romana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
