John P. Luke, 87, passed away Saturday May 21, 2016 at the Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Providence. He was the husband of the late Mee Har (Kwong) Luke. Born in Canton, China he was a son of the late Tin F. and Suey Ying (Lui) Luke. Mr. Luke was a chef and co-owner of the China Palace Restaurant in East Providence before retiring. He also had a passion for Martial arts, especially for Tai chi. He leaves three daughters, Christine Luke and her husband Jack Barry of New Hampshire, Lorna Luke of East Providence and Karen Luke and her husband Robert Gray of California, two sons, Sgt. Kenneth Luke EPPD, and his wife Paula of East Providence and Sgt. Samuel Luke EPPD, and his wife Cheryl of Cranston, five grandchildren, Nina Williams, Katherine Luke, Sara Hazan, Brandon Luke and Ryan Luke, two brothers, Samuel L. Luke and Daniel Luke. He was the brother of the late Arthur Luke. His funeral services will be private.
