Michael Bruce Neal

Michael Bruce Neal, 66 of Providence, RI transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 12, 2020 after a long battle with his heart at Tuft’s Medical Center in Boston, MA. For we know to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Michael was the husband of Sheila Harris. He was born in Providence, RI on July 7, 1954 to the late Edward and Lois Neal (Hill). Michael graduated from Hope High School and later attended the University of Rhode Island.

Michael started at Blue Cross /Blue Shield of Rhode Island in 1985 as a Lead Computer Operator where he eventually retired from fifteen years ago. In his retirement Michael enjoyed attending his son’s basketball games and AAU tournaments.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years Sheila and daughters Nichole Gomes (Corey), Sarina Harris, and son Michael Neal Jr. He also leaves behind a brother Edward H. Neal of Rochester, NY and sisters Jacqueline and Naomi Neal of Providence, RI.   Michael was also the brother of the late Terrance D. and Barbara J. Neal. He leaves a host of family and friends.  Funeral services will be private.

An Angel has obtained his glorious wings. The Saints that have gone before him, standing on the paved streets of gold, were happy to welcome him home. What a glorious reunion that must be. I stand with you in comfort knowing that he’s fully resting in peace. To the family, I send you love and comfort.
